Richard's Birthday!!!

Richard turned 39 today. One more year before the whopping 40!!! We are spending it very low key this weekend. We slept in this morning which was a big treat. We were both exhausted from our work week so the extra rest was overdue. Then we got dressed and went to lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant. We ate like KINGS!!! After lunch we strolled through the greenbelts near our house and came home for a piece of delicious cake. It was truly a fabulous cake. We are enjoying a relaxing Birthday weekend.

Here’s a few pic’s of Richard being silly in his new Buddy Guy T he got in Chicago. He is pretending to be the evil villain who pets his white cat in Doctor No/James Bond. We are huge 007 fans so it was no surprise he got the newest Bond, Quantum of Solace. We’ll be cuddled on the couch with a bowl of popcorn this evening. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RICHARD!!!
* Sorry about the mess. We still haven't hung our artwork yet. As you can see in the background.

My Newest Lust

I'm in love.....(sigh) I came across the most adorable apron. I truly believe if I owned this apron I would make the most tasty treats. Aprons motivate me to cook or bake. This apron would definitely inspire me to bake something yummy. Maybe cakes, cupcakes, chocolate macaroons....I must have this apron!!! I found it on the Layla Grace site. I absolutely adore Layla Grace. I always have a long list of "must haves" when I visit her on her fantastic blog. She even has matching tea towels and oven mits. Now if I can only find matching blue mixing bowls.

On my wish list

I want one!!! I found this on the Southern Living site and have the perfect place in our backyard for a plant shelf. This would be absolutely devine for my flowers. At the end of the last season I bought the most adorable ceramic pots. I cannot wait to begin to start potting my flowers. This weekend I drove by a local nursery and they have a huge variety of flowers that are ready for spring. Now if the rain and cold snaps would just go away.

Happy Birthday Barbie

Barbie turned 50 this week. Can you believe it?! She looks great. Must be from all that "plastic" surgery, LOL! I love retro Barbie. I started collecting retro Barbie a couple of years ago. I think she was so glamarous back in the day. I remember when I use to stay with my aunt Diane and Uncle Cal during the summers when I was a little girl. They had a small farm outside of Sacramento, California. At night my Aunt Diane would bring out her magical box of Barbies. They were from when she was a little girl so they were the real deal. I use to study her Barbies make-up and clothes. I would tell myself that I wanted to be Barbie when I grew up. I think Barbie represents something more than a beautiful doll to me. She represents a piece of my childhood that I'll always cherish. The Cowgirl Barbie is going to be my next purchase.

Easter is almost here

This past week has been gorgeous. It's been sunny and the temp running in the mid 80's. But this morning I woke up and it was freezing. I had to grab an extra blanket for the bed. I put on my yoga pants and sweatshirt (took me 10 minutes to locate one). I think I own only three sweatshirts since I moved to Texas. I kinda have the blahs looking outside. I know we need the rain but it looks so depressing. I love spring/summer. But I don't like cold weather at all. I was hoping to start planting my flower bed but Richard told me that you have to wait until April. That we were in for one more cold snap. I told him he was ridiculous but looks like he was right.

That's one reason why I love Easter so much. It's when the flowers are blooming and the weather is still fabulous. I'm looking forward to Easter this year. I've found the perfect Roasted Lamb Recipe that I'm going to prepare for our holiday dinner. I'm waiting to drag all of my Easter decorations out of the garage too. It's crazy....I've noticed that the stores began putting the Easter decorations and chocolate out in February (right after Valentine's Day). It just seems like they are getting more eager to market earlier and earlier each year. It's not even St. Patty's Day yet.

Here are a few ideas I found for decorating my dinner table for the Easter holiday. I love it!!!

TGIS Thank God it's Saturday

I'm so happy that it's Saturday. I've been looking forward all week to sleeping in, relaxing, and spending time with Richard. Richard has been working long hours. He has been meeting with investors all week. That's great because I got new accounts as well. I make my first order next week. So, I've been on the phone and dealing with the vendors and setting up logistics; all while unpacking the house, YAY! That was sarcasm for those who didn't pick up on that. However, it's been good. I'm just happy that we have some money rolling in. I'm off to sit my big butt on the couch and read my favorite magazines that I haven't been able to catch up on. Hope all is well.

Fresh Flowers!!!

Everyone has been so sweet. We came home the other night and our realtor left these for us. Aren't they beautiful!!! I love Sunflowers :) Our new neighborhood is so great.
