Swimsuits

Yesterday I was out shopping for a new black pump and noticed the swimsuits already on display. I couldn't help but browse through the new season suits. I happen to make the mistake of trying one on. I normally know to stay clear from a good swimsuit fitting this early in the year. This is the time when my legs haven't seen an ounce of sunshine and are white and pasty. I have a good friend who's from Spain and she always has lightly brown toned legs. What I would give to have her legs. A tan year round without even trying. Me, no I have pasty white glow in the dark legs. I've tried self tanners and even broke down and got the spray tan. Nothing really looks natural on me. Once I even used a self tanner and forgot to do my feet and hands. It looked like I had bright little white mittens and socks on. It took nearly a week for the tanner to wear off. My co worker's gave me a terrible time.

The one good thing about trying on a swim suit this early in the season is that it keeps me motivated to go to the gym. I've been hitting the weights and cardio all winter long. I'm hoping by June my legs will look fabulous in a new swimsuit. What type of swimsuits do you like and why?

Happy Valentine's Day

Do you remember getting Valentine's in school? I do. One of my first memories of looking forward to Valentine's Day was when I was in the 3rd grade. That's when I had my first secret crush. I didn't even reveal it to my BFF back then (we told each other EVERYTHING). I remember one morning I dropped my Hello Kitty pencil case in class and he picked it up (without destroying it...why do boys at that age destroy everything) and handed it to me. Our hands touched and immediately I had it bad. He was the most cutest boy in my class. He had big blue eyes and sandy blond hair. And he was a surfer (grew up in California). I thought I would absolutely die waiting for Valentine's Day to finally arrive. I waited patiently as he crossed the classroom and began putting his Valentine's into everyone's homemade paper pouch (arts & crafts). Finally he reached my desk, I thought my heart was going to leap from my chest. I smiled REALLY big and he....he...he threw the dang Valentine in my face and called me a dork. I wanted to burst out in tears but instead I told him I didn't want his stupid Valentine because he was gross. Yup, true love. We had it bad for eachother.

Who was your first Valentine crush?

Rain, Rain, Go Away....

It's been raining cats and dogs today. I've been eagerly waiting for another beautiful sunny day. Last week we had a couple of good days and I started to see some green foliage begin to push itself up through the brown, ugly, hibernating brush. I got excited as I was attending to my yard and wanted desperately to drive down to the nursery to see what I could thumb through. However, as much as I'm itching for Spring fever in my hands my head brings me back to reality. Mardi Gras is about a week away and I've lived in the South long enough to know that we usually get our cold snaps during that week. We also get another right before Easter. So what is a gal to do? Well, I've purchased some big plastic containers that I've already began planting bulbs in. Now I just have to sit and wait for this cold rainy season to be over.

What are you doing to pass the time during this cold season?

WHO DAT

WHO DAT! WHO DAT is going to win the Super Bowl!!!
Y'all we are so excited about the Saints going to Super Bowl this year. Normally I could care less (I usually go shopping during the Super Bowl) but this year I'm actually anxious to watch the game. The only thing that would make it even better is if we were back home in Nawlns watching the game with our family and friends. Of course we'll be talking to everyone by phone tomorrow but being apart of the group would have made it festive. I can't imagine how crazy the French Quarter is going to be tomorrow (especially if they win).
In honor of our black and gold beloved Saints and with Mardi Gras season coming around the corner we are celebrating with a Mardi Gras theme dinner. Today I'll be putting our Mardi Gras table together. I'm really looking forward to getting some fried shrimp. YUM!

I love being a girl

One of my favorite things about being a girl is being a foofoo girl. I love make up, lipstick, perfume, lotions, and nail polish. There's something about trying a new nail polish that gets me all giddy. I can't wait for Spring when I can reveal my naked toes in a pair of new leather mules or sandals. I feel that my toes have gone into hibernation and are aching to be awakened to the warm sunny Spring temps. Well, I might be getting ahead of myself considering we are only in the first week of February but I stopped by ULTA and browsed through their OPI collection. I found the perfect shade of red. I love painting my toes a bright glossy red during summer. I love the OPI Alice in Wonderland collection. Not only am I a huge Alice in Wonderland fan but I'm also in love with the color red. So the color "Off with her red" is so perfect for me. What is your favorite nail polish?
